Margot Stuns At The Vanity Fair Afterparty Wearing Archival Mugler

21/03/202429/05/2026 Jenna Post a comment

Immediately after the 96th Academy Awards ceremony, Margot made an appearance on the red carpet for the Annual Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, this year celebrating its 30th Anniversary having began its Annual celebration in 1994.

Where the red carpet at the Oscars generally follows unofficial fashion rules, such as prints, the Vanity Fair party has always offered the opportunity for celebrities to go a little out of their comfort zone. Margot’s look at last nights event was no exception to that rule.

Following from her surprise colour palette for the main event, perhaps a reflection of her character as a person to not overshadow co-star America Ferrera’s Supporting Actress nod, Margot switched it up in a look from one of Mugler‘s most iconic collections; the Spring/Summer 1996 “Les Colonnes” Collection.

The original bustier dress, featuring a Gold figure defining corset, boned structure and appliques was originally modelled in 1996 by Chrystele Saint Louis and provided a different offering from Margot and her stylist Andrew Mukamal. As with the runway version, Margot wore the Gold matching coat showing full view of the dress with it precisely modelled off her shoulders.

Although not a confirmation from her style team, one has to wonder if “The Blond Girl” Barbie, released in 2013, provided any source of inspiration for Margot’s look. As you can see the Gold corset and woven cape aren’t a million miles from her own look.

Completing her look were Lorraine Schwartz Diamond jewels and a custom pair of Manolo Blahnik “Crisspi” Sandals in Gold.

We really are at the end of an era with the conclusion of the Barbie Promotional tour.

Margot was styled by Andrew Mukamal, Makeup by Pati Dubroff, Hair by Bryce Scarlett and Nails by Betina Goldstein.
