Wuthering Heights World Premiere at TCL Chinese Theatre

29/01/202607/02/2026 Jenna Post a comment

Last night saw the official world premiere of Wuthering Heights, also acting as the first proper red carpet event of this promo tour and as expected Margot showed up and shone.

Designed by Daniel Roseberry, the gown combined all elements of the movie; romance, the drama, passion, all coming together through the corset top, chantilly lace and velvet & satin layers. (Credit: Schiaparelli).

The Taj Mahal pendant wasn’t the only item Margot was styled in on Wednesday night related to Elizabeth Taylor – she also wore this quite special cape. Before walking the red carpet, she was pictured with the piece, as seen in the 1967 movie where she played the role of Katherina Minola. This titbit was also confirmed by Margot herself.

Margot’s jewellery truly deserved a post of it’s own due to the history itself of the piece that she wore last night.

The short story; it’s a timeless classic gifted to Elizabeth Taylor on her 40th birthday by husband Richard Taylor. Margot added her own twist by wearing it in a choker style, with the tassel draping down her back.

The true story? Dating all the way to the 17th century, the jewel was received by Nur Jahan from husband Shah Jahangir, the 4th Emperor of the Mughal Empire. The pendant itself features an inscription of her name with the phrase “Love is Everlasting”.

Eventually passing to son Shah Jahan and once again gifted to wife Mumtaz-i-Mahal,it later gave rise to one of the Seven Wonders of the World; The Taj Mahal. As with many pieces of history, the jewel was acquired and reshaped, this time by luxury house, Cartier. In 1972, the newly remounted piece was acquired by Richard, gifting it to Elizabeth over 5 decades ago.

It was eventually sold in 2011 following an auction by Christie’s for $8.8 million. Following legal disputes, The Elizabeth Taylor Estate reached out to Andrew to tour the archives some months ago, with the stylist then being offered to allow Margot to wear the Diamond, with Margot saying on the night, “It felt like it had a lot of romantic history and felt appropriate for tonight.” (Credits: Town & Country, Only Natural Diamonds)

Pictured is Elizabeth on her birthday night with Richard Burton.

She also wore a Fred Leighton Diamond and Ruby ring, with a similar pictured.

Sadly we didn’t get to see this item on the red carpet, but Andrew posted a BTS of Margot’s accessories, including this minaudière, valued at £40,000. It features cabochon rubies, gold hardware and lipstick holder.
